It’s tuesday, I got my wisdom teeth out on friday, i really want a smoke, but my friends keep telling me i’ll get dry socket. Is that true? How long does it take until there is no risk of dry socket?
I got mine pulled on Jan 18, and smoked 3 days later, and I am fine! Go ahead, smoke, you deserve it for having to deal with the pain and stress of your surgery! Good luck in healing!

So three months ago I started feeling pressure all around my head, particularly tightness around my ears and heat in my head (sometimes a burning sensation), etc. Also symptoms similar to sinus pressure, only not by the forehead. The dentist said that I need all four wisdom teeth out and I got them out yesterday. Could these symptoms have been caused by the wisdom teeth, and if so, how long will it take for the tightness and pressure to go away?
Probably.
The pain you feel now is from the extractions, which should go away in a matter of days (if it seems to get better and then develops into a horrible dull throbbing ache, you have a dry socket and you need to go back to the dentist for more treatment.)
Those other symptoms should be gone, though. Wisdom teeth can be really annoying. That’s why most people get them extracted. Personally, I’ve had three pulled and I’ll get the last one pulled if it starts bothering me like the others. Follow ALL of your dentist’s instructions for care after the extractions and you should be fine in a few days (maybe still sore, but much better.)

how much with out insurance and with insurance
Wisdom teeth extraction can start from $300 up to $700 depending on the type of extraction. You can have a surgical extraction; bony extraction; partial bony extraction and impacted extraction. The locals are normaly in the price and if it’s anything besides and surgical extraction you will want either oral sedation or iv sedation. Trust me!!

i got my wisdom teeth out 4 days ago, and i’m healing pretty quick.. (i had surgery, 4 wisdom teeth out). im wondering how long i should wait to run? i have dissolvable stitches and im on vicodin, ibuprofen and penicillin.. i dont want to exercise too soon and strain my mouth or anything, but i want to get into my routine again.. if anyone has personal experience then let me know, otherwise ill call my doctor..
You should be fine now. The main reason not to do physical excercise is to keep the heart from beating fast which gets the blood pumping and could dislodge the healing blood clot. This is usually limited to the day of and the day after the surgery. The stitches should be fine and you won’t strain your mouth.

I’m getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out in two weeks. All 4 of them have very small roots and the doc says this is the best time to get them out. I was wondering how long the recovery will be and if I will swell and bruise alot.
JUST LIKE 1 WEEK JUST TO BE SURE

Ok well im 13 and all four of me wisdom teeth are impacted so in a couple days im getting them taken out. I know it wont hurt during bcuz there putting me under but after the surgery how bad is it gonna hurt? How long am i gonna be in pain? Will i be able to talk rite? Im scared and i need an honest answer about the pain ?
Some people can bounce back. I guess it depends on your own personal healing. If you’re someone who recovers quickly, then maybe the pain will only be for 2-4 days. But if you’re someone who is easily hurt, very sensitive, and the slightest touch will give you a bruise, then getting a wisdom tooth removed will take maybe about 7 days- 2weeks for the after effects to go away.
I hope it all goes well for you honey-pie. Good-luck (and only take the given amount of medication they give you. PLEASE don’t over-dose. Yeah if you have pain take the amount they say. Nothing more sweetie. I know pain is like a killer but you can get through it. Trust me!)

I have penicillin to clear my infection from getting my wisdom teeth pulled, but I’m a little scared of taking it because when I took it before I got my wizzies pulled, it caused a lot of pain. Please help!

does it hurt when you are getting your wisdom teeth out or just after they are out and the drugs ware out?
I just got mines out on 3/22 which is a monday and I did not feel the pain till like 10mins after the procedure, when I was awake, but when the drug ware off i felt it even worse. I got all four of my tooth out, I don’t want to scare you but it is the worst pain I have ever felt, it hurt so bad i started crying when i got home (yea i no big baby) but it hurt that bad. I no everyone will have their own experience, but my face is swollen i have to miss a week out of school cause the pain, the medication make me nauseous (they gave me vicodin). And most of the time i have to lay down when i dont feel good. All i could eat was yogurt, soup, ice cream, popsicle and anything soft. I even loss 5 pounds with in 2days, so image how much i am going to lose by the end of the week, cause it don’t same like it is getting better. Eating is horrible it takes me at least 30 mins to an hour, to finish something that normally would take 10-15 mins to eat. But good luck with yours.

By the way, I’m kinda young, plus my teeth are veryy slow.
Wells anyways, I have a tooth right next to my molars/wisdom teeth. And it’s super loose right now, it hurts to bite down.
I was wondering, how can it come out? It cant just fall out like your two front teeth, and you just cant play with it with your tongue, since its too thick.
Am I gonna have to go to the dentist?
Definitely should go to the dentist. They can help you out. If the tooth needs to come out they can numb you up so it doesn’t hurt.

Does it cost more to sleep during the operation? Why doesn’t everybody just sleep instead of staying awake? If you do decide to sleep during the extraction they still give you the same shots don’t they? I also heard that if you stay awake they will give you "laughing gas", What options do you have when it comes to wisdom teeth extraction and what do you think is the best way to go about it
well im getting mine out march 3rd…. my dentist prescribed me with .5mg of Halcion to take 45 min before I arrive for surgery.. its suppose to be a relaxer for anxiety then I will get the numbing stuff… the laughing gas is like $117… I wouldnt pay that much for an hour appointment..lol see if they will prescribe you a relaxer to take before you arrive.. my dentist said with that and the pain killers I may not even remember being at the dentist.. so I guess its got to be some good stuff…
also they said you cant go to sleep during the surgery.. I dont remember why but its for medical reasons..
